Took a plane across the ocean
Just to find a clearer view
There I saw the clouds in motion
And the sky a deeper blue
Thought I had it all so planned out
Found a place to re-begin
But they dropped me on an island
And I don't know how to swim
So they sent a rescue mission
Docked a ship along the bay
And I thought I heard some sirens
Figured I could I could sail away
But our boat hit nasty weather
Crashed the hull along the rocks
Now there's two holes where water fills up
In my soul and in my socks
You told me you would meet me
At the station when I came
Were you honest or deceiving me
When I showed up for the train
And I know I should be happy
Looking at the houses on the hills
But they make me feel uneasy
And the mountains give me chills

Immeasurable Change
02:33
|
|||
I see dozens of sheep from my window
I hope their wool keeps them warm in the snow
I feel immeasurable change, yes I know
I feel immeasurable change, yes I grow
Mid-day, the storefronts all close and I grieve
French waiters wait, German men tell me to leave
I feel immeasurable change, yes I know
I feel immeasurable change, yes I grow

Snowy Mountain
04:26
|
|||
On that snowy mountain
I look to the sky with awe
See the same old stars
That my grandmothers saw
The snow reflects the moonbeams:
The light that leads the way
Which in turn reflects the sun from
A million miles away
And I've always wanted to see it,
Maybe go there some day
Book my transportation for a vacation stay
But it's just not that easy, this I know
If I tried to reach there I would just go and go
But I could never reach there
On that snowy mountain
Met some darling cows
Some day I'd like to free them
But I don't know how
Maybe break open their cages and then
Burn the barn down
Grow a moustache and then flee the town
But it's just not that easy, this I know
I wish I could free them and they could just go and go
And they'd run free forever
On that snowy mountain
There's no light pollution
No bioluminescence, hallogen or fluorescence
Not a worry to guide me,
All my woes behind me
No bad thought will ever find me
The stars will always remind me
But there's beauty overhead and space to grow
Whichever path I take I will go and go
Until I reach there

Don't Waste Your Words
02:48
|
|||
Please don't waste your words on me
I'm already gone
Take a step out your front door
Through the flowers on your lawn
But oh, how all the days drag by
And oh, how all the weeks drag by
And oh, how all the months drag by
Please don't waste your words on me
I'm already yours
No pastures green or new routines
Can erase our befores
But oh, how all the days drag by
And oh, how all the minutes drag by
And oh, how all the seconds drag by
Torn apart by time and space
Oh how I miss your dances and faces
With you around to laugh and sigh
But oh how all the seconds drag by

In The Air
03:14
|
|||
I saw those birds this morning
Swooping like spirits above the lake
Insects came into view
And the moisture grew
In the air
My unease was growing
When the gulls sought refuge far away
The church bells chimed
Their melodies climbed
Through the air
The clouds crashed into the mountains
Trees gripped on for their lives
Nature overflowed the rivers and fountains
The snails took shelter to survive
The rain cleared up like a conscience
The smell of wood-smoke filled the sky
Cedar spray and an ashen grey
Filled the air

Parc Lafontaine
03:29
|
|||
Words escape lips
Adrift in a drunken haze
All the world's problems
Are solved in Parc Lafontaine
Days flow through me
Soft and cooly
Cities shape me
And renew me
I find myself
In a photo I've never seen
A note on your wall in my hand
And a faceless family tree
Days flow through me
Soft and cooly
Cities shape me
And renew me
